Rob Thomas Accidentally Hits Bandmate Swinging His Microphone Stand
OOOOPSIES!
Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas has done this thing where he swings his mic stand around, and well this time there was collateral damage. He hit guitarist Paul Douchette’s head and shattered his in-ear monitors. It actually left fragments lodged in his ear! This happened on stage while performing at the Illinois State Fair and the clip is going viral.
Thomas told the crowd, “It nailed him. Yeah, it nailed him hard. My best friend in the world, and I think I almost killed him, and I feel really bad about this.” Doucette came back out with a drink and they joked about it. He later posted a video on Instagram showing one of the crew using tweezers to get the rest of the fragments out!
