Purdue Students Break World Record With Their Purdubik’s Cube Robot
A team of Purdue University undergrad students built a robot that can solve a Rubik’s cube in a record-breaking .103 seconds. Matthew Patrohay, Junpei Ota, Aden Hurd and Alex Berta are undergrads at Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in West Lafayette. They through a co-op program at the school and teamed up to design their robot, beating the previous record of .38 seconds set by a team of Mitsubishi engineers!
And 9 years ago, a high school kid from Florida built one that set the record at 2.39.
