Man Quit His Job To Sail Around The World With His Cat

Oliver Widger is a 29-year-old from Oregon and quit his job to sail around the world with his cat. He’s never sailed outside of on a river, so to go from Oregon to Hawaii is amazingly ambitious as an amateur sailor! The reason he decided on this drastic life change was a devastating diagnosis of a rare bone disorder that may lead to paralysis.
So he cashed in his 401K, sold his belongings and cars and bought a boat. And companies are helping him out along the way, like the cosmetics brand e.l.f., who sent a plane out to drop him a care package including sunscreen in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

And he got an amazing reception waiting for him at the Waikiki Yacht Club and a Coast Guard escort as he arrived in Oahu! Hundreds of fans showed up as he arrived in Hawaii to a hero’s welcome!
