Principal Skydives As Reward For Students Exceeding A Reading Challenge
An elementary school principal in Florida is notorious for challenging the students to crush goals and earn some fun rewards…usually at his expense. Principal Matt Dyer amped it up several notches this year when his school crushed an accelerated reading challenge… he jumped out of a plane! “We’ve had me sleep on top of the building before and wave to the kids as they leave on the weekend,” said Dyer. “We’ve done slime, where the kids come up and slime me. We’ve done pies in the face. We’ve done water balloons. Really anything where they can make a mess and make a mess of me.”
He said, “I don’t want to go to work at a place where I’m not going to have fun, and I don’t think kids want to learn at a place where they’re not having fun, too.”
