Students Type Letters To Tom Hanks…And He Responds To Every One
A high school teacher in Pennsylvania had a unique way to have students turn off their digital devices and go a little old school with a writing lesson. And a big movie star was involved!
Writing instructor Fred Durbin at a performing arts high school in Pennsylvania wanted to challenged his students to be more mindful in their writing before they write and decided to have them use old typewriters. Knowing how much Tom Hanks loves typewriters (he’s a collector), he assigned his students to type letters to Tom Hanks on these vintage typewriters.
What he didn’t expect was for Hanks to personally respond to every single letter.
