Quiet High Schooler Reconnects With Classmates By Painting Their Portraits
According to many of her senior classmates here at Waunakee High School in Wisconsin, 18-year-old Molly Schafer was a loner. But that wasn’t always the case. In elementary school, she was way more social. It wasn’t until she got older that social anxiety started to take over.
She doesn’t blame her former friends though, and took it upon herself to try to reconnect in an unusual way. She dug into her artistic skills and spent hours in her garage loft painting 44 portraits of her classmates. She spent 13 hours on each one…600 hours in total. And her classmates were amazed at that effort, and how incredible they turned out!
It was a beautiful lesson to reach out and try to keep those connections going. “You just have to try.”
