Stranger Uses CPR Skills She Learned 40 Years Ago To Save Teen
Earlier this year, a mother’s worst nightmare turned into an unexpected blessing when another mom, a total stranger, saved her 15-year-old son’s life. Samantha Tucker’s son, Evan, was on a baseball field, when he suffered cardiac arrest and the stranger performed CPR for 8 minutes, saving his life. Johnette Wilmot was there watching her 11-year-old tryout for a summer team when she noticed what happened. “I learned CPR in high school when I was 17 and I’ve never had to use it in 40 years,” “I just kept humming Staying Alive,” Wilmot said.
Evan was in a coma for several days, and has had a long road to recovery. He has since been able to walk, without help, and talk again. Both mothers are sharing the story urging others to learn CPR, because you never know when it could save a life!
