Teens Save A Restaurant After Owners Suffer Medical Crisis

This one is a tearjerker…bittersweet but at the heart of it is some incredible teenagers who saved a restaurant.

A Wisconsin restaurant owner named Chad Trainor is praising the teenagers who stepped up to keep him in business. Last September, his wife Carol had a grand mal seizure at the restaurant and spent eight months in the hospital. She unfortunately passed away. But the teens he hired were the ones who kept the business going while he was going through that crisis with his wife.

Trainor built his restaurant with teen workers, about 30 of them to be exact! They are ages 14 to 18 and Trainor says: “They soak up information, they want to learn, they want to do well.”

Seventeen-year-old Acacia and 15-year-old Joe were homeschooled so they showed up at 5:30am and prepped for the day while the others were at school. Everyone took on new roles. Teens trained each other, came up with the daily specials, and even watered Carol’s plants. They even checked emails to make sure bills got paid.

Carol and Chad sponsored the teens’ pageants and rarely missed their school sports and performances, so that helped create a family atmosphere.
