But this story is about 10 employees at an elementary school in Ohio who are in the news after winning $1 million on August 6th.
Part of their winnings went to a teacher they worked with who lost her battle with cancer six years ago. They’ve been paying into the pool for her ever since. Each person’s cut is $72,000 after taxes. Mary Jo, who had died of cancer, taught kindergarten at the school. One of the members called her their “guardian angel.” They’re giving her portion to her children.
