Viral: Woman Writes Her Own Witty Obituary Urging Others To “Live Life To The Fullest”
Linda Murphy’s daughter, Justing, always said her mom wanted to go viral. And she is, thanks to her witty self-written obituary. Murphy passed away at age 60 after battling ALS. She wrote her own obituary starting with: “Well, if you’re reading this obituary, I’m dead. I died of FOMO due to complications from ALS.”
She went on to encourage others to “say yes to the party, the trip, the adventure and while you’re there, please raise a glass to me in cheers.” She encouraged kindness: “Please be kind to everyone: the telemarketer, the grocery clerk, the Dunkin’s staff, the tailgater, your family, your friends.”
At her wake this week, family gave out bracelets that read “Live like Linda: Spread Smiles”. She also suggested in lieu of flowers, buy scratch off tickets and give them to strangers.
