High School Volleyball Team Gifts Custodian A Car
Abel Rodriguez has worked as a custodian at Community High School near Dallas, Texas for years and has been a huge supporter of the athletic programs. As one of the volleyball players, Addee Kuenstler says, “He supports us through everything. He’s our biggest cheerleader.” So when they learned he didn’t have transportation to get home from work (often waiting until 1am to get a ride home), they went to work to change that.
The team set up a GoFundMe campaign for him and raised more than $3000 the first day. Soon that turned into $9,000 and a local dealership wanted to get involved too! Group 1 Ford of Rockwall pitched in the vehicle and the J.R. Arey State Farm Agency added auto insurance coverage and gas money.
Over a 100 people showed up cheering for him as he was surprised with his new ride outside the school!
