This Painting Sold For A Record $236 MILLION
Somebody just spent a STAGGERING amount of money on a painting!
Granted, it was a 1916 Gustav Klimt called “Portrait of Elisabeth Lederer,” that survived a World War II castle fire, which is impressive. It also launched a dramatic high-stakes bidding war for 20 minutes with the winning bid coming in from an anonymous collector on the phone at $205 million. Add in the buyer’s premiums and auction fees, that ballooned to $236 million!
