“Accidental” Thanksgiving Invitation Friends Mark 10 Years

Back in 2016, Wanda Dench accidentally sent Jamal Hinton an invitation to Thanksgiving dinner with a wrong number text…and he accepted! She thought she was texting her grandson and he was a 17-year-old high school student at the time. And they have celebrated Thanksgiving together ever since. In fact, their friendship extends beyond one annual meal together. Jamal supported her through the loss of Wanda’s beloved husband Lonnie in 2020 and her recent battle with breast cancer.
