Texas Roadhouse Roadside Hero Gets EMT Scholarship
A 19-year-old kid in South Texas named Juan Mendoza pulled an elderly couple from their car after a nasty wreck.
Juan O’Matta, who turns 80 this month, was driving home from a doctor’s appointment with his wife Adriana when their car was struck and sent spinning into the middle of the road. Mendoza just got rewarded in a big way. The president of an ambulance company offered him a scholarship to train to be an EMT, and told him he’s got a job as soon as he graduates. CBS Mornings was there.
And the mayor of their town declared it “Juan Mendoza Day”.
