GoFundMe Started For Cashier Who Secretly Covered Customer’s Bill
A high school senior in Minnesota is in the news for going way above and beyond.
Brent Cabahug is a cashier at a Walmart near Minneapolis, and an old lady’s card got declined. So he reached into his own wallet and paid for all her stuff (which was about $80). A customer in line behind her, Dani Dircks, was so impressed, they started a GoFundMe for him. Last we checked, it was up over $10,000.
And get this, the lady didn’t even knew he did that. And Dircks talked to Cabahug’s mom and got the backstory she included in the GoFundMe, explaining that he’s currently saving for his first car which to her showed how much more meaningful his donation was. His volleyball career ended after he broke his leg during a competition and he graduates this year. His new plan is to work full time rather than attend school to save money to help his mom and family buy her own place. Dani kicked in $250 bucks to start it and was hoping to raise $2500.
