Missing Dog Found After 43 Days In The Wilderness

Steven Maa was on the road from New Jersey to California for a job, and stopped to ski in Keystone last December. He dropped his 11-year-old dog, Rocky, off with a pet sitter near Montezuma.

Things went south when Rocky broke out of his harness and bolted towards Keystone. So Steven rushed back and got a nonprofit called Summit Lost Pet Rescue to help look for Rocky.

They set up trail cameras and a comfort station where they had scents Rocky might recognize to lure him there. They told neighbors, and a few saw Rocky, but he bolted again. But they knew he was still alive.

After eight days of searching, Steven was forced to leave but the pet rescue said they would keep searching. Then a miracle happened about six weeks later when the rescue group was notified about a lost dog that had been trapped. It was indeed Rocky who somehow survived subzero temperatures and wolf packs! He lost about 24 pounds but was super happy to see his human!

And you should see that tail wagging and all the kisses and hugs when Rocky saw Steven again!
