Mom Of Five Reunites With Former Foster Care Caseworker
Nearly 20 years after aging out of foster care, an Arizona mother finally reunited with the CPS caseworker who once was her lifeline.
Sarah Paul was just a teen when she met Barbara Daw-Sander, and now as a mom of five, she wanted to reconnect and thank her for being that change in her life. She shared an old photo on Facebook and asked if anyone recognized her caseworker. Paul says Daw-Sander is “the one who made me not continue the cycle, not go down the same path as everyone else in my family…” and showed up when it mattered the most. It was an experience she had with her own daughter that triggered the desire to track down Barbara and properly thank her.
It turns out they live just three miles apart from each other!
They now plan to stay in touch and even spend holidays together!
