“The Blessing Bike” Gives Seniors The Chance To Ride A Bike Again
A senior living community in Boise, Idaho is giving residents the chance to experience bike rides again using a stable three-wheel version…and someone else peddling!
They call it the “Blessing Bike“. The program allows seniors with limited mobility to enjoy the outdoors once again. The idea was cooked up by a couple who wanted to take their 92-year-old mother out in 2018 and that grew into a nonprofit that now provides passenger bikes to people who would otherwise not be able to bike.
And even when it’s colder outside, they’ll take it for a spin around the building! They are hoping to inspire other senior living communities to adopt a similar program!
