Passenger Started a GoFundMe For Airline Worker She Witnessed Limping On The Tarmac
Lacinda Thackery was a passenger looking out the terminal window at John Wayne Airport in southern California and saddened to see a limping worker struggling to make it across the tarmac. She says she was struck by his determination to still working hard despite his challenges in getting around.
@boymom692 Does anyone know this man at the John Wayne Airport? Watching him work so hard, he could barely move, barely walk truly broke my heart. I know there has to be a way we can help him retire. #findhim #viral #delta #retirement #empath ♬ original sound – Keegan
She posted a video online and it did not take long for social media to do its thing. Turns out his name is James Blair. He is a 64-year-old Navy vet who works at the airport refueling planes. One commenter said he’d worked alongside James for 5 years and that talking to him is the best part of his day! James couldn’t quit his job because he cares for his mom and he needs the money for bills. Thackery started a GoFundMe page for him that so far has raised $131,000 and counting. He said the money has been life-changing!
@boymom692 #duet with @James Blair I am so humbled for all of you who donated. The go fund me will remain in my bio. Please continue to help our veteran James Blair and donate ##viral##veteran##johnwayneairport##humanity ♬ original sound – James Blair
