Friendship Formed Across the Globe Based On Running and Farming
Dennis, a Wisconsin native and farmer, happened to cross paths with a Kenyan pro-runner named Betty at a marathon in Hong Kong. They discovered they shared a passion for both marathons and farming, and quickly became friends. Dennis invited Betty to visit his farm in Wisconsin, and she came.
Betty has spent her time in Wisconsin training, exploring and helping Dennis with the farm. She drove a tractor for the first time. And it turns out LOTS of people in Dennis’ town are interested in meeting Betty so they made an event out of it. A “Run with Betty Day” happened this weekend at a YMCA. When asked about their friendship, Betty perfectly summed it up by saying, “’Mountains never meet, but people do,’ and that’s monumental when you think about that.”
