Viral GoFundMe For Theater Employee Raises Debate
Another viral video led to a big fundraiser for an elderly woman working at a movie theater in Tennessee. But there was some controversy.
21-year-old Brooklyn Green was leaving a movie theater with her grandparents in Tennessee when she noticed an elderly employee pushing a cleaning cart through the building. The moment stuck with her and she took some video and posted it on TikTok on her way home trying to help her retire. Within 48 hours, the fundraiser had raised nearly $140,000 toward its $200,000 goal!

But there was some debate about posting video of Mary without first finding out if she wants to retire and not being aware she started a fundraiser. The theater manager explained Mary loves to volunteer at her church and support the homeless in her area and might not even KEEP the money. But either way, donations are still helping right??
