Baseball Player Gets College Scholarship While Legally Blind In One Eye
Teen baseball fanatic and pitcher, Payton Bryan, is getting a full scholarship to play college baseball at Ottawa University in Arizona.
The fact that makes this an extra special accomplishment is that he’s legally blind in one eye. Bryan was diagnosed with Coats Disease when he was a child. Coats is a non-hereditary eye disorder that causes abnormal and leaky blood vessels in the retina, leading to fluid buildup and potential vision loss. It caused him to be legally blind in his left eye, but he’s never let that hold him back from playing his favorite sport.
His goal one day is to play for the Chicago Cubs!
