Hospital Recreates Father/Daughter Dance For 10-Year-Old Heart Patient
The Cleveland Clinic did something special for a 10-year-old named Ava Cooper last month. She was born in 2014 with several heart defects and had her first open-heart surgery when she was six days old.
Later in life, a sinus infection escalated, pushing her into heart failure, and she was put on the transplant list. She’s been there over 200 days waiting for a new heart, and couldn’t go to her school’s father-daughter dance. So the hospital recreated it and it was awesome! One of the child life specialists even sang a Taylor Swift song and dad, Sean, said he had never been more grateful to be a “girl dad.”
