McNeese State Men’s Basketball Student Manager Gets Time In The Spotlight

McNeese State men’s basketball team made it to the second round of NCAA tournament action before being knocked out by Purdue, 76-62. But a star emerged from their run in their student manager, Amir “Aura” Khan.

He first went viral on Feb. 22, when he was seen rapping “In & Out” by Lud Foe word-for-word while leading the Cowboys out for the game from their locker room while wearing an enormous boombox around his neck.

He’s gotten so popular, that he’s scored name, image and likeness (NIL) deals with Buffalo Wild Wings, TickPick, Turbotax and Insomnia Cookies (which, yes, comes with free cookies!). And he needed three security guards during the last game! He even got his own official trading card from Topps, and a two-piece Under Armour set with his nickname “Aura” inscribed on the back.

McNeese’s cheerleaders were also seen wearing “Amir Khan” socks on…how iconic is that??

So what’s next for Khan now that the dance is over for McNeese State? Well he’s supposed to graduate in the fall with a degree in sports management, but doesn’t want to step away from college basketball any time soon. He has his eye set on becoming a graduate assistant coach!
