Local Pilot Recovering After Crash On Breckenridge Lane
You probably saw pictures and video fill up your feed last week of a small plane that crashed on Breckenridge Lane at Kresge in Louisville Friday October 11. That was pilot instructor Evan Peel giving licensed pilot Jessica Dye a check out flight for this type of plane, the single engine Piper Cherokee, when they lost throttle. Peel made a mayday call before taking the brunt of the crash and having to be pulled from the aircraft.
Dye wasn’t injured but Peel has a road to recovery suffering burns on his back. There is a GoFundMe set up for his medical bills and lost income while he is recovering. He and his wife, Breezy, also just closed on a house they are now worried they can’t afford in light of what happened.
