School Nurse Aids Injured Hiker

Ashley Anderson is a school nurse who helped a grandfather who had fallen down a 20-foot waterfall at a Utah Canyon.

She was hiking with her two kids when they noticed a man was badly injured at the bottom of a waterfall. He is a 64-year-old grandfather, and Anderson said, “This man’s leg was obviously broken, and his head was sliced open and bleeding.” They had to get him out of the cold water and handle the bleeding on his head, so another man with them took off his shirt to use as a bandage until a rescue crew could get to them.

The man ended up having a shattered kneecap and broken femur, but no brain or spinal injuries.
