8-Year-Old Gives His Birthday Money To A Homeless Woman
Mom is doing something right.
8-year-old Mateo is melting hearts in Chicago and online with what he decided to do with his birthday money. As they pulled up to a stoplight, Mateo noticed a woman selling candy for $3 and asked if he could buy something from her. His mom, Daniela Santos, says “I see him open up his little box, and he’s counting the money. He pulls out a $20 bill, and I’m like, honey, it’s $3, not $23.” He wanted to give her ALL of his money. Santos was so moved, she got a quick video asking him why he did that and his answer is melting the internet!

Mateo’s kindness and drive to help others has inspired millions. So mom took it a step further and launched a GoFundMe…not to replenish her son’s birthday money, but to continue Mateo’s mission of helping those in need. And it’s started a ripple effect of giving!
