Pool Lifeguards Save Mom and Her Son From Nearby Stream
“I’ve never had a save like that, and I don’t think I ever will. It wasn’t even at our pool. We ran and had to get in the creek, and it was a life or death situation.”
That’s what 18-year-old pool manager Kaden Ross said of rescuing a mom and her 7-year-old son from a nearby stream. Ross and other lifeguards at a public pool near Columbus, Ohio left their post after hearing screams from a nearby stream.
A mom and her seven-year-old son were struggling in 12 to 15-foot water. The lifeguards scaled a fence, and saved them both. Ross said, “I saved the mother. I bring her to a log, and then she tells me my boy’s under there. So when she tells me this, I look in the water and I don’t see anyone. Another guy came and got into the water with me. As I am saving the mom, I give her to one of my guards. He sees the little boy’s feet. The only thing we can see are his little feet above the water.” The boy needed CPR until medics arrived.
