Mechanic Finds Lost Wallet After 11 Years
A mechanic in Minnesota was working on a 2015 Ford SUV when he found a wallet that an assembly line worker left in the car 11 years ago.
Richard Guilford is that Ford worker, now retired, but remembers the day his wallet went missing. He was working on a Ford assembly line in Chicago when it fell out of his pocket. He and his team initially searched for it, but there were 2,000 vehicles on the floor and they eventually had to give up. Fast forward 11 years and the 2015 Ford Edge it fell in ended up in Crystal Lake, Minnesota in Chad Volk’s shop to get the cooling fans replaced. He was trying to put the air box back into place under the hood, but it wouldn’t fit right. That’s when he found Richard’s leather wallet sitting on top of the transmission. When Chad found the Ford ID he took to Facebook and tracked down Richard! That car had 150,000 miles on it and had Richard’s wallet the whole time.
The wallet also had $15 in cash and $250 worth of Cabela’s sporting goods gift cards he had intended to use to buy Christmas presents for his kids! Here’s the best part, Cabella’s is going to reissue the gift cards so he can keep the old wallet intact as a keepsake!
