Feel Good: The Dad Letter Project
A 30-year-old woman in Cincinnati named Rosie Paulik had this tradition of getting handwritten letters from her dad, Buz Ecker. He started doing this when she was in the fourth grade, and over the years she’s gotten some 3,500 letters from her dad. Whenever she would be away at summer camp, when she left for college or even moved into her first apartment just 20 minutes away. She got a handwritten note in her mailbox every single day. He writes her son letters now, too. So she noticed her dad, who is 67, needed a hobby. Last month, she launched something called The Dad Letter Project, where anyone can request an encouraging letter from him.

So, she decided to post a TikTok, seeing if anyone would be interested in this proposition. Immediately, she received a resounding response and quickly acquired over 1,000 requests — which as of Wednesday had grown to 1,200 requests — for letters from her dad. She set up a website and enlisted three other dad staff writers. Turns out there are a lot of people who just want some dad advice or encouragement. He writes about 10 letters each morning.
