Woman Becomes First-Time Mom At Burning Man
A birth at Burning Man! Yep and she HAD NO IDEA SHE WAS PREGNANT. The Utah woman, Kayla Thompson, ended up delivering the baby in an RV bathroom. The baby’s aunt, Lacey Paxman, talked about it to the local news.
A nearby nurse helped out and then a NICU nurse, and a pediatrician all showed up to help. The timing was also perfect for the weather for them to get a helicopter to an ambulance to the hospital, where the baby is in the NICU and is expected to be ok. Doctors said the baby was 35 weeks along. She was 3 lbs 9.6 oz and measuring 16.5 inches long. When word got around what had happened, somebody taped “It’s a GIRL” to the side of the RV!
It was their first time at Burning Man…and THEIR FIRST CHILD. So now they have to suddenly learn how to be parents and get all the gear. So a GoFundMe has been set up to help get them started and cover all the medical bills.
