The 30-Year Mystery Of A Pumpkin On Top Of The University Of Montana’s Main Hall
THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 30 YEARS!!!
A mysterious pumpkin that appears every fall for homecoming, high atop the spire at the University of Montana’s Main Hall. It first showed up in 1995 after Griz Football won its first FCS National Championship. It’s unclear who does it . . . but it’s so dangerous that the school has tried hiring pros to do it, to keep students from risking it.
That said, one person from the climbing community who knows people who have done that climb agreed to talk to local news anonymously:
He explained they started with the fire escape: “Just using parts of the clock until you’re right at the top, um and as you can see the green roof is just some sort of roof tile that if it has any condensation like it usually does in a fall day or a fall night it’s pretty slippery,” they said. They say it takes a team, usually led by a senior climber to handle logistics.
