Couple Marries In The YMCA Pool Where They Met During Water Aerobics Class

An 82-year-old man and 78-year-old woman in Illinois tied the knot in the YMCA pool where they first met during a water aerobics class. Wearing swim-friendly wedding attire, Edward LaRue and Marlene Parsons exchanged vows surrounded by friends, family, and a lifeguard! Alie, the center’s aquatics director, officiated the ceremony.
Marlene said their dynamic was flirty and playful from the start…she said, “We splashed each other in the pool.”
They went on their first date in December 2023. They bonded quickly but they were initially hesitant about marrying again as they both lost their spouses six years earlier. Congratulations Ed and Marlene!
