A “positivity influencer” from Australia shared a video this week of a guy near Detroit named Ed Bambas. He’s a veteran who’s still working at age 88 fulltime at Meijer. His wife passed away 7 years ago, and he lost his pension due to bankruptcy. Sam Weidenhofer has 2.3 million followers on Instagram and 7.5 million on TikTok, and posted his conversation with Ed Monday. Within days, followers and people who saw the video had pitched in over a million bucks to help Ed retire!

When local news sat down with him to talk about his viral fame, he had no idea what a stir his story caused. “I don’t have any of those programs (social media)…I don’t have one of those fancy cell phones.” BLESS HIS HEART. He became everyone’s grandpa at that moment!
