A 7-Year-Old Girl Saved Her Grandma’s Life
Two young girls became heroes when it counted for their grandma, Watana Rogers. WHAS11 had the story of when Roger’s dialysis port ruptured, causing massive bleeding. 7-year-old Marley immediately grabbed Rogers’ phone to call her dad, and then 911. She then grabbed rags to help control the bleeding.
First responders said that quick action made the difference in how this story turned out. Big sister Justice stayed with her sister until their parents got back home, and Rogers was able to come home again for the holidays after a month in the hospital. She said that was the “biggest blessing.”
Rogers has been living with stage IV kidney disease for six years, and the girls were taught how to care for her in the event of an emergency like this.
