Customers Will Wait For 40 Minutes For This Publix Cashier
Typically when people run to the grocery store, they are trying to get in and out as quickly as possible. Except for a Publix in Georgia, where customers will wait for upwards of 40 minutes for one cashier to check them out. His name is Michael Masterangelo and he’s worked there for a decade.
Store Manager Courtney McGuinness says you can’t train what Michael brings to the store each day. “His positivity that he comes in every day with, it makes working and shopping here enjoyable,” she said. “He’s always smiling. He’s always interacting.” He has been part of Special Olympics since he was 7 or 8 years old, and this year, he set a personal fundraising goal right at his register.
He singlehandedly raised over $31,000 in 6 days just by inviting customers to donate while scanning their groceries. And get this, customers will even come to his basketball games and cheer him on!
