Woman Caught Lying To Judge In Virtual Court Hearing
If you can manage to make it through the day without trying to gaslight the judge in a court case against you… then you’re doing OK!
Kimberly Carroll’s first mistake was showing up late to her court Zoom hearing this week. The second mistake was logging on while driving. She was facing Judge Michael K. McNally over her $1,921.85 default judgment over unpaid debt. The judge immediately told her she couldn’t drive during court, but Carroll said she was a passenger but the judge keenly noted her seatbelt’s location. “Am I crazy or does it not look like you’re driving that car?” McNally asked.
When he demanded to see the supposed driver, Carroll got out of the vehicle. He wasn’t having it. “Do you think I’m that stupid?” the judge responded before entering default judgment and stating Carroll “was driving a car and telling the court she was not.”
Carroll later issued a statement taking responsibility for her “poor judgment.”
